We are a family-owned firm, now managed and controlled by: Michael, Joseph, John, David and Paul Ellias, each an active principal and shareholder of the company.

Our history is comprised of a diverse range of projects, which include military construction, educational facilities, commercial, seismic retrofit, and multi-unit residential. An interesting note is that our firm constructed over 100 restaurants in 26 states and Canada from 1972 to 1979 for several national restaurant chains, which included Sambo’s, International House of Pancakes (IHOP), McDonalds, and Sizzlers.

If provided the opportunity, we offer extensive pre-construction services during the design development stage, which dramatically reduces problems during construction. Unique to a firm of our size is that a company principal will always have a direct, “hands-on” role in every project ensuring quality, cost-effective and timely delivery. For this reason, we have purposely limited our workload to a comfortable range of between $20 million to $50 million.

Since 1990, we have focused our efforts on special-needs (i.e. student housing, assisted living, congregate-care, senior and disabled) housing facilities built for religious, government and non-profit organizations. We have constructed over 1,700 residential units, comprising in excess of 1.65 million square feet with an aggregate construction contract value of over $200 million. These buildings have ranged from single story wood-framed to mid-rise steel and concrete buildings. Our administrative and field staffs have been very successful in meeting the unique conditions and requirements necessary for this type of work. We have developed a team of subcontractors and suppliers who have played an important role in the success of these projects. As a merit-shop contractor, we are able to combine the benefits of non-union and union subcontractors to ensure the project’s goals are achieved. We have earned an excellent reputation with our clients, several of which are major regional and national firms, which has resulted in long and successful relationships with these organizations.

We are members and active in the following professional industry organizations: Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and Southern California Association of Non Profit Housing (SCANPH)
